Welcome
WARNING: Reading the articles on this
web site may cause you to question your religious, philosophic and political
beliefs. We certainly hope so! While the two authors of the articles contained
herein don’t agree on everything, we do agree that the Bible is the inspired
word of God and that it contains great wisdom often overlooked even by those
who believe God is its source.

the resounding defeat of the President’s party candidates in Virginia, New

This web site contains the writings
of Clay Willis (USA) and Glenn Davies (Australia). It is largely the result of a continuing
Bible study conducted primarily by e-mail over the past several years. It is specifically the results of two
Christians attempting to read and study the Bible with “new eyes”, i.e. to put
aside as much as possible what we have learned from our encounters with various
Christian and secular organizations and to attempt to learn directly from the
Bible itself.
We have found that almost all
religions teach a great deal of truth; they would not have remained in
existence if this were not so. However,
we have also discovered that many of their doctrines are not found in the Bible
but are based on the teaching of one or more individuals who developed their
own interpretation of the Bible and taught it to their followers. There is nothing inherently wrong with that
process; it’s just that those interpretations may be wrong and in the case of some religions, the doctrines
taught are based as much upon the traditions developed by church leaders as
they are upon the Bible. This is
especially true of the Catholic Church and its offshoots that remain close to
its doctrines and with Judaism, which honors the Talmud sometimes more than the written
law and the prophets.
Today’s evangelical Christians have
discarded many of the traditions developed by the Catholic Church and rely more
directly on the Bible for their doctrines.
The result of this is that several of these human religions
organizations are the fastest growing groups of Christians while the Catholic
Church remains static and is losing members of its organization in many
places. However, without the Bible
scholars that are a part of the priesthood of the Catholic Church, each of
these organizations is free to interpret the Bible as they see fit and the result
is the fracturing of the body of Christ into thousands of organizations, each
separated by relatively small doctrinal differences and with many believing
that they have a corner on the truth, thus insuring that there cannot be any
unity among God’s people
We believe that there is only one true religion and that it is the same
religion practiced by the patriarchs of the Bible, by the children of Israel
and the same religion taught by Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God. It is a religion that is based on loving God
with all our heart, soul and mind and loving our neighbor as ourselves. The rituals are unimportant and the small
differences of doctrine are mostly unimportant as well.
We also believe that the love of God
causes a person to seek to understand and obey God’s laws, which are immutable,
unchangeable and perfect and the striving to understand and obey those laws is
the only human course of action that leads to happiness, contentment and
spiritual growth.
It is our desire that our writing
might stimulate others to study the Bible more carefully and to learn from that
book the purpose of our existence, the nature of God and humanity and what God
has in store for mankind.
